Sliema

Sliema,
situated on the peninsula directly north of
the capital, Valletta,
is a popular tourist destination, and one of
Maltas’ main coastal resorts. Meaning
‘peace’, Sliema was once a small fishing
town, and has since developed into a
thriving resort, home to upmarket hotels and
prestigious residential areas. The elegant
promenade, lined with plenty of shops, bars
and restaurants, is the main hub of the
resort, popular both with the Maltese and
the many holidaymakers who visit Sliema.
